Therese Apel is a seasoned Mississippi crime journalist and founder of Darkhorse Press, Mississippi's Hometown News Source. With a career spanning local print, radio, and television, including The Clarion-Ledger and WLBT, she has built a reputation for tenacious, ground-level reporting and a commitment to telling stories with clarity, integrity, and impact.

Her front-lines news coverage of high-profile cases such as the Jessica Chambers case, the Brookhaven spree killings, and the Carly Gregg case has landed her on national news programs and documentaries since 2013.

Through her company, TAC Solutions, she provides media and crisis consulting and teaches media management courses for law enforcement and first responders.

She also hosts the Investigation: Homicide podcast that features the roles of Mississippi first responders in relation to some of the biggest cases and issues in the state.
